MEET RACHEL
Artist Manager & Industry Specialist
Rachel Whitford is a high-level music industry strategist and advocate with an international career. Originally from Sydney, Rachel’s foundation was built at the powerhouse Chugg Music, where she gained deep insights into large-scale management and touring.
A specialist in the complexities of the modern industry, Rachel’s tenure at APRA AMCOS provided her with an expert-level understanding of rights management and publishing—skills she now uses to ensure South Australian creators are commercially protected and export-ready. As the co-owner of 27 Music, she manages a formidable roster of talent, including the multi-award-winning Teenage Joans and Marie Cassandra, steering their careers from local stages to national prominence.
Beyond management, Rachel is a tireless advocate for industry development in South Australia. Her work at Music SA and her ongoing strategic consultations with key cultural organisations such as Nexus Arts and Carclew have made her a vital architect of the state’s music ecosystem. Rachel is dedicated to bridging the gap between artistic vision and business sustainability, ensuring South Australia remains a competitive and professional home for contemporary music.
